Learning how to make great shifts in your life can seem overwhelming.

I GET IT. Hi, I'm Ilanit (pronounced ee-la-neet)

When we are young and facing challenging circumstances alone, we take on some beliefs to make sense of it all. As adults, we need to update our systems and the parts of us that may have gotten stuck in the past.

The problem is that we often approach our problems from the head and not the heart. Logic is only the first step, and leads to minimal relief at best which can leave you feeling frustrated and hopeless.

This is where IFS (Internal Family Systems), a heart centered process, can lead to transformation.

About Me

I love the gentle and accepting yet powerful healing nature of the IFS model and have been working with it since 2013. I found IFS by being a client myself and I continue to work with my own parts with my own therapist.

I became an IFS practitioner after a career in academic research, I completed my doctorate in Evolutionary Psychology in 2009 and spent nearly a decade of working in mental health research at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

I participated in eight 1-week-long workshops led by IFS founder, Dick Schwartz, then went on to complete Level 1 IFS training through the IFS Institute. I have served as a Level 1 PA (program assistant) and as a Guide for Step One through the Syzygy Institute (i.e. I help teach therapists how to practice IFS).

Since 2019, I have served as the Associate Director of Research for the IFS nonprofit, the Foundation for Self Leadership. My current passion project is a program I co-founded in 2023 called Healing for Peace in which I organize nearly a hundred IFS-trained volunteers who support individuals in Israel and Palestine navigating the current crisis there.

Working Together

Our work together will be authentic, compassionate, playful, moving and challenging at times. Bring your curiosity and an open mind and the rest will follow as you connect to the light within you!

I enjoy working with individuals, healers, therapists, leaders and anyone who is ready to take their healing to levels that mindfulness or meditation alone or traditional therapies* might not reach. I also enjoy guiding clients in preparatory and integration work before and after plant medicine ceremonies.

*I am not a therapist. I encourage those seeking treatment for specific diagnoses or symptoms to visit the IFS directory to find a licensed clinician with whom to work. Or, if you are receiving mental health care under the supervision of a licensed clinician, you might discuss with them if this would be an appropriate complementary approach for you.
